I add peanut butter and blueberries to steel cut oats and only get a modest rise in my glucose.

The reduction in the blood sugar after the peak was much faster with the protein powder. I sometimes feel you don't look at the tail-off and return to normal. The other day there was a double peak, on which you didn't comment.

my brother-in-law said if you cool a potato through after cooking it, it doesn't effect your blood sugar as much?

You had similar results because the carbs and the protein hit your stomach at the same time. I wonder if by having the protein powder first mixed with milk or water and then eating, the oatmeal will have different results.

Overnight oats with Greek yogurt, protein powder and chia seeds (more ingredients for flavor like cold brew coffee) and I was amazed barely a ruse in my blood sugar and I’m type 2

Probably some mixed nuts or chia seeds to help with fiber and lower the spike but keep the protein

I have been baking a 9x13 of oatmeal with nuts, protein powder and fresh fruit. Then I eat it during the week and my sugar doesn’t spike since it’s cooled and reheated.

I love love love oatmeal, but about 45 minutes after I eat it I crash. Even if I put zero sugar and use sugar substitute sweetened that I crash.

Type 1 Diabetic here. Protein powder is processed very quickly and can actually raise my glucose just as quickly as complex carbs. This is why it didn’t help. Usually, it takes energy to process the protein, but isolate is basically ready for use in the body.
