These arguments absolutely suck because I think the trans person would know that best. You don't need to tell them that. and I know a lot of trans people. Who don't get mad if they're missed gendered on accident But I really only care if it's on purpose. I am nonbinary he/it or they/them and when people accidentally misgender me don't be a total dick about it , I just say things take time to get used to so if you accidentally misgender me it's ok.

honestly, if your trans and don't look the part, you're mostly likely going to be misgendered when you first meet someone. However, if you don't look the part and someone that KNOWS your trans, you have reason to be upset. But if you don't look fem/masc, you don't have reason to be upset when someone you JUST met misgenders you.
