Somewhere Over the Rainbow is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Its music is by Jewish Composer Harold Arlen and its lyrics are by Jewish lyricist Yip Harburg. Jewish singer Mandy Patinkin led the PS22 Chorus (a world-renowned Webby Award winning chorus!) in a gorgeous rendition of this song at the Zohran Mamdani Mark Levine and public advocate Jamaane Williams inauguration. Three different public servants from three different backgrounds taking their oaths of office in three different books of worship. They were sworn in by equally diverse Letitia James and Bernie Sanders . They all held space for those who voted for them and those who did not. Of course there will be many who wish the election results were different. Hopefully we can all agree to support the winners were appropriate and hold them accountable when they need to be. I ALSO hope instead of “canceling” me you choose to stay and maybe even have a calm discussion about your concerns and feelings. At the end of the day, this is the THIRD NYC Mayor I’ve covered as a content creator. I hope you will respect my desire to continue covering NYC Mayors and support NYC government officials, as I have since 2017. I have worked with mayors, borough presidents, and government agencies ranging from NYPD to HPD to the Department of Sanitation. It would be wrong to omit current events with the current mayor.
