30 ml Mylanta or Maalox (generic) , 30 ml Benadryl, 12 ml Anbesol - ask the pharmacy for a bottle or a travel sized bottle, mix ingredients in a cup, pour in bottle (shake well), take 5 ml from a dropper - gargle and spit

I swear by betadine gargle whenever I get a little tickle in my throat. It loosens any mucus so you can spit it out which is what I have found to be the cause of sore throat for me

I asked a pharmacist for a bottle once and he asked me what I needed it for. I told them I was making magic mouthwash and he told me that he couldn’t give me the bottle knowing that I was making a compound medication. I was like um ok and then went to a different pharmacy which gave me the bottle. Out of all of the ingredients, the bottle was the hardest to get lol

No one talking about neti-pot/nasal rinse around here? My doctor has me on twice a day (use distilled water!!!!) and my sore throat lasts like 3 hours maybe. Sore throat is irritation from post-nasal discharge. If it’s clean it won’t irritate!

As a RN I remember giving this to our chemo patients with sores in their mouth. And people with thrush. And, to date myself, lol, to our HIV, AIDS patients. Thank you for giving the "recipe ".
