not the way a level works and thats plumb not the level. if the bubble in a 4 foot level is an inch off its only over 4 foot so if you are levelling 20 feet you will be off by 4 inches. so the bubble he is using is about ½ inch thick so if the bubble is off 1/16th of an inch and you would fit 160 of them bubble thicknesses the full length of the timber then the timber be off 9 inches over 80 inches
