@richard.degouveia: The Year Gone By | A Poem in Motion This film is a reflection on a year that unfolded slowly, deliberately, and sometimes painfully, but always with purpose. From guide training on the plains of Tanzania, to the quiet intensity of tracking a black leopard in Kenya. From loss and homecoming in South Africa, to the sensory overload of India and the stark calm of Namibia’s desert landscapes. From conservation work, wild dog puppies, and rhino collaring, to luxury drifting through the Okavango Delta, and finally standing eye to eye with gorillas in the forest. This poem is about movement, across countries, ecosystems, careers, and chapters of life. It is about grief and gratitude, endings and beginnings, mentorship and independence, and the responsibility that comes with choosing a new path. It also marks the closing of an important chapter with @naturalhabitatadventures, and the moment of stepping fully into the next phase with @arcearthtravel . A shift from learning within the nest, to flying on my own, carrying everything that journey taught me. This is not a highlight reel. It is a record of growth, reflection, and the quiet moments between the milestones. Thank you for watching, and for being part of the journey. #TheYearGoneBy #Storytime #LifeInChapters #TravelStory #SafariLife

🌿 A Guide Still True
Through winding paths and forest air,
I once walked with a guide so rare.
His voice was calm, his steps were kind,
Respect for earth in heart and mind.
Years have passed, yet still I see,
The same bright flame of reverie.
Passion steady, never dimmed,
A soul attuned to leaf and limb.
Glad am I, with joy profound,
That his respect still circles round.
For nature’s song, he keeps the tune,
A timeless guide beneath the moon.
His spirit stands, both firm and free,
A living root, a noble tree.
And I, with gratitude, now say:
I’m glad he walks this path today.
