How it works is, the multiplication by 2 forces the number to be even, so that when it is multiplied by 5, or in other words, it multiplies by 10 to make sure that the last single digit number is 0. For example, if I were to pick 17, I would just technically multiply by 10 and get 170, then the -5 and +7 literally just cancel out to be +2, and when you add 2 to a multiple of ten you’re guaranteed to have it end with 2. I can’t believe people fall for this 😭
