So question… I told him after a week of disappearing and not following through that communication and consistency are important for me and that I like him and would love to keep exploring our connection (after dating for a month) to which he responded that he liked me too but his work is hectic and right now can’t give me what I want and deserve. And added “I’m really bummed too and of course, you deserve honesty. I’ve had a great time and know you’re a great person. I think this is where we need to take gender out of the convo. It's more about finding someone where it's mutual. being needy or wanting to be with a person isn't negative. it just has to be with the right person. It happens to women to. I think we just need to normalize liking people, showing intrest, and being honest.

I agree! My first boyfriend would call me from a pay phone daily from the moment we met and I was always available. It’s the only relationship that has worked for me. When a guy doesn’t show any interest it turns me off after a while if I’m the only one showing interest. I have no problem giving back little by little. I do prefer developing a platonic friendship first because that creates a solid foundation for a romantic relationship.
