I got 2 hermits crabs about a month ago from pecto, i know not a great place. i’ve done loads of research but about a week ago -minium- one of them hasn’t come out. he hadn’t changed shells yet either and i suspect he is in a hut. when i pointed a camera in there to try not to disturb him but still check, i couldn’t see him. right now the substrate is about 3 inches because I’ve been building it up for the past couple weeks. I’m unsure if that’s enough for him to dig underground and start molting. Or maybe he is molting above ground. Either way I need a bit of help to figure out if I should lift the hut up and check on him or if I should leave it be. i’m very worried and need help with and advice i can get. Please let me know if this has happened to anyone else.

Mine hardly touch the work castings. I’ve tried different bowls and places in the tank, but they never seem to touch it.

How often do you swap/clean out their regular food for fresh food? My hermies food goes soggy 24 - 48 hours after putting it in because of the humidity. I am new with my hermit craps, I got them for Christmas :) so I am still learning

I just adopted a new member his name is Tank because it’s huge all my other are baby’s compared to, it’s a lover not a pincher… so far 😆 I almost ran it over 😢 it was a close one ☝️but alive and enjoying his new home….. ❤️

I was hoping you could help direct me in a way to keep my humidity up? I just got a 75 gallon tank, I have the plexiglass fitting almost perfectly except where tubing is running to the tank, but I can’t get the humidity above 60 for anything despite otherwise perfect conditions
