watched the YouTube video, and I’m honestly not an emotional person, but I was almost in tears. It’s heartbreaking to see what so many women go through while still trying to hold everything together for their family, their image, and their honour. We shouldn’t be defending men who put women through this.
I’m truly sorry you had to experience that. I’m sorry you went through such a painful pregnancy with so little support. I can’t even imagine the physical and emotional suffering you endured.
An insecure, narcissistic husband who lived off you is never acceptable. That should never be the dynamic. Don’t marry someone who isn’t in your tax bracket, and never choose a man who has no real bond with his family or is willing to cut them off for you. As appealing as it might seem at first, if he can cut off his own blood, he will do far worse to you. A man like that has no backbone, no matter how much he pretends otherwise.
You should never have to ask for permission. A healthy relationship is one where both partners are on the same level, with mutual respect, support, and clear agreements. These are conversations that must happen before marriage.
The first red flag is your sign to run. Don’t ignore it. Don’t keep secrets either—always keep at least one trusted person in the loop. That’s about safety as much as it is about having someone who can see things clearly when you can’t.
I’m not trying to preach, this is coming from experience. Peace and love to you and your family
