I love when game devs explain a problem that nobody knew about and how complex the solution is just for the players to not even recognize the solution

Love the idea that the ship’s soul is on another plane and when someone boards it, their soul boards the ship’s soul

That is actually SO SO smart I love that idea. I love when indie devs go to lengths like this to make their game run well, even on lesser hardware, especially with UE5 since it has so so much stigma with “UE5 = bad performance” really good job.

Man, I could NOT be a game dev. This stuff is far too clever for me to figure out on my own 😂😭

Listening to these I am starting to believe that quantum phenomena like superposition , entanglement and collapse of wavefunction are just dev tricks to decrease the computational needs running the semulation of the universe!

I don't see how this is different from just using local space

But what if the ship is partially broken and you step on that part? You would be floating right?

Interesting! But doesn't that mean the player moves as though bound by the ship's gravity rather than the planet's?

Reminds me a bit of the Railjack from Warframe! They had to figure out how to include both players and a giant spaceship the players can enter. Their solution was making a puppet ship that flies around space and attach cameras for the windows inside the ship to that puppet ship
