Injectors going out/sticking that’s usually what it means if your rpm’s hang up like that after giving a little rev. They are over fueling. If you keep driving it that way you could melt a piston.

Choppy idle down signifies it needs injectors. The rev hang is pretty normal for a 5.9 with stock tuning.

Injectors are hanging open, doesn’t matter what it is if it’s spraying fuel when it’s not supposed to it’s going to fire, just like when you spray ether it revs up. Common issue for the third gen’s, especially with stock injectors.

I’m telling you right now check for air restrictions my truck did the exact same thing and it was a blockage on the grid heater

I’ve found if the fuel system is completely stock and you rev them high, they will hang up and slowly come back down. Now if you start getting white smoke or hazing while idling or driving it’s time to replace them

Mine was doing it after I changed injectors then I put a hp tuner tune and it was good never had a issue

it idles fine,drives good I don’t see smoke,the only smoke I see whe I get on it when im driving is black smoke,so idk if it’s exactly injectors

My 05 does the same thing and I could never figure out why it was doing this but from the comments everyone is saying injectors. So I will look into them.
