Herds of Przewalski's horses (Takhi) in Australia are primarily found at Monarto Safari Park in South Australia, which runs a major conservation breeding program, and at Zambi Wildlife Retreat/Western Sydney Parklands in Wallacia, NSW, where rescued horses from the former Fernhill estate now reside. Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, NSW, also maintains a successful breeding program and participates in global reintroduction efforts.
