@drjoedamiani: Headaches, tension, or anxiety creeping in? Your vagus nerve might need that extra nudge. 💡 Did you know that the vagus nerve is your body’s main calming pathway? It runs all the way from your brain through your neck, heart, lungs, and gut. When it’s underactive or stuck in survival mode, stress can linger, making pain and tension harder to shake. In this video, I show you a simple gargling technique to stimulate the vagus nerve and shift out of fight-or-flight. By gargling in different positions, we are stimulating the pharyngeal branch of the vagus nerve. Some positions you can gargle in are standing, lying down, walking, or even with one foot up to engage more sensory input. Use this technique before you encounter known triggers, or at the beginning or end of a long day to help your system reset. You can pause for a minute to try out the exercise on its own, or just work it into your daily tasks for a calm, grounded reset. 👇 Comment below if this surprised you, or if you want more nervous system tips!
