Get rid of all properties and stock investment outside TFSA and RRSP have a joint account with spouse you trust so you don’t lawyers advisers or any will. Keep it simple ant all other people away including government

I going through this same issue. My mom passed away 12/19/24. My immediate family took care of her when she needed anything. We were with her all the time.My sisters only called once in a while. My mom didn’t want to discuss a will. She did not want them to get anything from her estate. Unfortunately it was hearsay.I also had a sister who passed away in 2018 and she had kids who as well never had any contact with her only once in a while.I did hire an attorney to do what was necessary. We are almost done with the settlement.I’m so pissed they are getting some money. They deserve nothing.I’m upset that they didn’t care about my mom when she was alive but of course they have their hands out.

My daughters father recently passed away without a will his mother passed right before he did. His siblings sold his mother's house all all got approx 300k. If my daughter filed for executorship he probably had about 5mil in medical debt which is impossible to find or settle being that its from multiple hospitals Drs etc. We were divorced but married over 10yrs. Is there anything I can do to get my daughter the money shes entitled to?
