surely it's worth a lot more if you process it? I think the way to go for farmers these days is going to be to set up local sales and hopefully a co-op ran by farmers for farmers to keep all profits

He will never make granulated sugar at home, it’s too labour intensive, Syrup maybe but won’t taste the same, 10kg of sugar beet to make 1kg of granulated sugar

They sell cheap feed though! Sugar production is such a funny one. Efficiency in the processing is so important. Global price is down! If we want a British sugar industry surely farmers and producers need to work together to protect it!
