Are you able to show the surge tank? I’ve had my share of flashing fuel panels on 737s 😂 i think the surge tank only holds 25-50 gallons before venting

Over 200k liters of fuel in a 747. That’s a lot of weight to be placed on wings that needs flexibility to sort of flap in a certain range. I often ask how can airline companies make money having to put all that fuel into an aircraft, plus all the other costs. But let’s also talk about jet engines. If we use all that amount of fuel, why evolve from the combustion engines airplanes used to have? If airplanes went from combustion engines to jet engines, how come 100 years later we are still driving cars mainly with combustion engines?
