Do Gimanshas have an immunity to tetrodotoxin? Or would a blue-ring Octoling hypothetically be able to take one down with them if they managed to get a good bite or few in on one? Also considering they're not hostile to each other (with maybe the exception of elders since those become non-hostile to most ink-fish) and they're so difficult to kill, even with slow reproduction, with how much they eat, can they eat anything other than Ink-fish to sustain themselves? And if not then how exactly do their numbers not get out of control? Especially since Ink-fish with maybe the earlier aforementioned exception seem to have no canonical defenses against them(unless maybe Ink-fish are a venomous in general thing, and that *is* the defense)

I got a little head canon that gimansha are similar to inklings in origin but are fundamentally different biologically. regarding “living crystals” in alternate inklings got the good end of the spectrum, creating, art, culture, human emotions, etc…. But for the gimansha I feel like when evolving from the crystals game them humanity’s animalistic traits and actions, primal hunting instincts. pretty much, I think inklings or squid gained hum
