@astleywarehouseaction: These cameras are set up around the perimeter of the warehouses and set off audio / flash each time someone walks down our public footpaths. They are just a few metres from our homes. While we understand security cameras are a necessary measure for construction sites, this issue shows once again that this development has been built WAY too close to our homes - with noise and light pollution impacting members of our community every night. How did Wigan Council approve this?

Whoever has built the warehouses have paid the council a substantial amount otherwise it'd never go ahead

That's a statutory nuisance, EPA 1990. Should be fairly straightforward to challenge, and the responsibility is with the Environmental Health department so you shouldn't bear any costs. Good luck. (former Env Health professional)

A light like that could easily be replicated outside all of the councillors and officers homes who decided to pass this. I’m sure they would be totally fine with this happening outside their homes.

Disgraceful, where it’s the accountability, the town and country need to hold the council and central government to account. They need to be sued . Politicians need to be prosecuted in the criminal courts and civil courts.

Council 100% need investigation on this decision and whether inappropriate handling or alleged backhanders took place. If you live there and want to progress this, start an online petition to investigate it
