I know this may be the case for some quilts but I always thought you had to sew each individual piece together to make those shapes 😭 this was so much simpler

I didn't use a jelly roll, but I cut my strips 2.5 inch x 18, sewed the 4 strips together then cut that in half but it doesn't end up a square like yours. Should I have cut my strips wider?

If you want the darks and lights to line up (like hers) make sure you put the darks as the first and last piece when sewing the 4 strips together. I learned this the hard way.
