Sometimes the hardest thing to do after a breakup is nothing. No double texts. No begging for answers. No trying to force a conversation. No constantly checking whether they still care. Just stepping back. When someone has an avoidant attachment style, pressure can make them retreat even further. But giving them space isn’t a guaranteed trick to “get them back.” The real shift happens when you stop making their attention the centre of your life. I stopped chasing. I stopped trying to fix everything. I stopped asking where we stood. I stopped overexplaining my feelings. I stopped reacting emotionally to every little thing. Instead, I focused on myself. I rebuilt my confidence. I stayed busy. I invested my energy into my own life and stopped measuring my worth by whether someone was choosing me. And when he eventually came back, I didn’t immediately jump back into the same dynamic. I took it slow. No rushing. No trauma dumping. No pretending everything was magically fixed. Just simple conversations, consistent actions, and letting things develop naturally. Because getting an ex back isn’t necessarily the victory. Becoming someone who no longer needs their validation is. And if they do come back, the real question isn’t “How do I keep them?” It’s: “Have they actually changed enough for this relationship to be healthy this time?” #fyp #emotions #Love #breakup
