i am a mother,teacher my self i feel hitting the tables or sourounding things to scare kids not to harm them, even if you hit them should but very limited to one hit and that jst very lightly or to jst raise your hand and nt hit don't humiliate the kids and don't harm them physically jst scare jst scare,fear is necassary but not physically pain, thanks sheikh for helping the future hafiz students by yiur words

Indeed harshness shouldn’t be placed especially when the words of Allah are being taught. How can a person have a attachment to the Quran and love for the Quran if you scolding them harshly and hurting them? That will prevent their love for the Quran teach with peace and love❤️

When I first learnt how to read Arabic / Quran in Pakistan as a kid our qari would hit our hand with a stick if things took long or mistakes were made. Very rigid experience but Alhamdulillah I am learning diligently myself and inshAllah I hope to join a class locally to perfect overtime

I was thought the same back in Somalia, my teacher used to beat us with the telephone cable, just after morning prayer before even sun the rise, I have scars in body till this day!!!

This is common practice in madrasas across the south Asian countries, even in mosques in the UK up until may be a few years ago, some probably still do. I remember the beatings 😕

I did a tour in a quranschool in Morocco and asked if they still "Dharab" and they said, yes it is beneficial for memory. Every single Moroccan teacher I had beat, threw stuff, angered. I have a good teacher from egypt now.

In Australia i left Arab brothers Quran class of more than 20 People because they had no Adab, informing them about Imam Malik's story, when her mother took her Masjed of Prophet ﷺ in Madinah “Go and learn from Rabi‘ah. Learn his adab (character, manners) before his ‘ilm (knowledge).”

This has been happening for decades, it happened to me 45 years ago, we didn’t go to a mosque, we were taught by a female neighbour. But I know of family members who were abused in a mosque in Pakistan, some sexually abused. We cannot be surprised that this is the first time we are hearing this?
