On stretchy fabric like that you want to use a different needle for Jersey fabric and use a zig zag stitch

so the first thing is just that the thread spool you bought is to tall idk if they sell extenders for the thread holder maybe well see look for short fat spools instead the one you bought is for a different machine and the reason your fabric looked like that is your tension i know it seems like a lot of information please read your sewing machine instruction booklet you have one of the best brands there and i promise itll last you a long time slmewhere in the book should have a chart or table that has the different fabrics and what needles and tension you should be using for everything youve got this tho im so excited for you to learn this reach out if you need any help ive been doing this since middle school as a cosplayer youve got this

I’m also trying to learn sewing this year but something I did see yesterday that if you pull/touching the fabric from the back while sewing it can cause it to warp so if you push it into the sewing machine from the front and let the foot do all the work your line should come out straight
