Hi! Leathercraft teacher here! Single piece reinforcing hardware like that is typically referred to as an eyelet, if there’s a second piece (it’ll be flat, like a washer) then it’s called a grommet. And if you want setters to last longer, use a poly or rawhide mallet (the temper of the hammer’s steel is harder than the tool, so it’ll deform over time and be harder to hit straight down 😊
