I have always said this! Gohan always moaned and resented studying when his mom brought it up when there was a threat to deal with! He didn’t jump at the chance to skip out on the fighting, he couldn’t think about anything else, he wanted to help! He’s a fighter, he’s just not like his father. He’s a reactionary character. He doesn’t have a passion to continue training and fighting in times of peace, he wants an actual life not just a small house in the woods.

Just my opinion. Love the videos btw : Gohan fights to protect. Goku and Vegeta actually love fighting. No where in dbz or super does he fight for the love or enjoyment of fighting.

The reason why Gohan is written so weirdly is that he was supposed to be the main protagonist of the show after Goku. The cell games was supposed to be a way of passing on the mantle to him, however it was later decided that the main story will continue to focus on Goku
