Also I love how homelander speech to Ryan isn't written towards just him talking to his son, it's him unknowingly projecting all of his internal struggles onto his son of insecurity and desperate need to be loved back by the people he cares about especially the line of "why am I not good enough for you?"

Homelander is evil, but he was shaped that way. He was raised without love, empathy, or guidance treated like a product, not a child. You can see moments where he wants connection, especially with his son, but he doesn’t know how to be good because he was never taught. That doesn’t excuse him, but it makes him tragic. He didn’t start as a monster he was made into one. Honestly a great villain. He’s personally my #1 villain.

I see my dad in him which is why I hate him, but I love him because I force myself to see him in a better aspect the same way I try to do with my dad. He's genuinely such an agonizing character for me, and despite not relating to him he resonates with me on such a deep level
