I understand the point he was trying to make with the video, but I see things a little differently. I agree that appreciation is important, and I will always appreciate effort and good intentions, but appreciation alone doesn’t replace understanding. We all have different love languages, and loving someone isn’t just about doing what makes sense to you, it’s about learning what makes the other person feel truly loved. You might show love in the way that feels natural to you, like making coffee or doing acts of service, and that is valuable, but if that isn’t the way I personally receive love, it can still leave me feeling unseen. Just like you want to be loved through respect and certain behaviors, I also need to be loved in the ways that speak to my heart. Love shouldn’t be ‘I’ll love you how I want to love you,’ it should be ‘I’ll learn how you need to be loved.’ Real love is about communication, adjustment and meeting each other halfway. I don’t want to be loved only in the way you choose to love, I want to be loved in the way that makes me feel safe, understood and valued. if you told me that you love Manchester united and i decide to buy you a Barcelona FC jersey instead of buying what you love just because "i feel like it would suit you better" you would show appreciation but you will be disappointed simply because you mentioned it me and decided to love you the way i wanna love you. it will be like i don't pay attention to uu. Also this circles back to communicating those unexpected expectations to avoid being disappointed
