I drove through there from MD to San Fran and back to MD in a Toyota Camry rental. No issues. Just make sure you have a full tank of gas. Its like driving throught the Florida Glades. Nothing on both sides. Signs tell you to have a full tank.

there's a couple of small towns and gas stations on that road, but it's pitch dark at night,no cell service, so be careful driving on it and make sure you have extra gas
