i think connor remaining a machine is interesting considering how it parallels bootlicking minorities who believe they will be looked at different for siding with the oppressors only to be discarded. it also has a further layer because markus's model is of color while connor's model is white. however, i always go for deviant connor because i love that narrative of connor subconsciously becoming free through experiencing humanity with hank and the conflict of what his mission is (being a deviant hunter, like with the bird keeper and staceys, versus serving humanity and saving, like with the hostage situation and the cop bleeding out along with the deviant in stratford) and his loyalty to his people, the androids.

so what if he got replaced? he was a machine, this is who he is, and Markus trying to become 'free' doesnt make him equal to humans, it's merely a machine with a corrupted program that led to if trying to act as a human, one is clear, true to itself, the other is a corrupted peice of junk.
