If your employees need to go on food stamps to survive, you don’t deserve your business because at that point, the tax payers are paying part of their salary. Looking at you Walmart and Amazon.

The CEO of Walmart earns about $24 million dollars a year. If you equality distributed, Just between Walmarts American hourly workers, You could increase the pay by $0.06... Not an hour. A day.

Because small businesses exist with razor thin margins. Minimum wage doesn’t only apply to people that work in corporations. If wages go too high, it will cripple small businesses and then all we have left are corporations.

People want the wage increase but not the added responsibility that comes with it nor do they want to adjust their attitude toward the job

So this is non-sequitor. Companies with “CEOs” making millions don’t say they can’t afford to pay more. They will if required. It’s the small businesses that say they can’t afford it. They don’t have CEOs making millions. The big companies advocate for higher minimum wages precisely because they can afford it and they know it will put their competition out of business. Also, I know this is just baiting comments and this person either doesn’t care about these topics or is woefully ignorant but just wants to get paid by TikTok.

Mostly supply and demand, but also volume. Very few people can do what a CEO does at a large company. Spreading that salary out doesn’t always amount to much individually. Depends on companies though

In almost every instance, a typical CEO makes $30-$50 per year per employee. It simply does not impact employee wages.
