I went home (Pinas) last year. I realized how much I missed. How people, even family, has changed. How you may video call your family and friends frequently but still doesn’t have a full picture of how life is going for them. I tell them stories about my life here in the US and my people here, but they can only listen so much and I don’t even know if they can relate to me. It felt like we will no longer relate to each other when it comes to other stuff. I still felt home though. And when I came back here in the US I felt home too. So yeah, I have 2 homes now. 😅

I went back to Cebu 2023 after being gone for 13 years. I barely know my way around anymore since there are a lot of tall condo buildings around and the ridiculous traffic cuz it seems everyone and their mothers could afford scooters and cars 😭😭😭 and what the hell, airconed jeepneys?! I felt like I belonged and didn't belong at the same time

So true. I love my life here in OR. Philippines is home for me because my family is there. It’s not the food, the vibe. It’s having dinner with everyone enjoying my lola’s cooking.

The thing about moving out of the country is you will never be fully home anymore🥺 pag uwi sa Pinas sobrang felt home but not ready to go home for good cause I also love my life in Canada 😭

6 months here in the US and I miss home every single day. I spent 10 years in Dubai, but homesickness here hits differently. Still grateful to be here… Some days are just really hard lang talaga… missing home hits different.🥹

I I have a different tape for this for somebody who has been away for 60 years and recently came home around January of this year about like it’s more of I had a different environment now and that changed a lot in terms of mindset perspective in life and so I think nothing really has changed back home, but I changed a lot away from home so going back home felt like I just became a better person than I used to
