The cops hands are tied because of the laws. It's the laws that need to change. If he does become violent and kills her then it's too late. There needs to be something before the escalation.

Mania is a disorder. They are not essentially toxic - but the actions made when being manic typically are. The medication helps, and it takes WORK to try to get them to take it. This situation is hard - trust me i know - and i feel so much for her.

Having to announce that you’re recording IS the danger for some people. How do you announce the only thing protecting you, and have to put yourself in more danger to do it? Angry people will take being recorded as insult, it doesn’t help anyone having to announce it.

I think the P.O. ended up helping her in the long run, grabbing hand is an iffy arrest and he did it, he couldn’t arrest the first time because he hadn’t been violent yet, and it would hard for her to get the VPO he suggested without the D.V. Charge.
