Guess they never saw the movie Dark Water abt the real life story of two girls stuck up in the mangroves while being stalked by a crocodile. There WAS a third friend that got slimmed by the croc and it would periodically bring the friends dead body around for them to see

So fun fact, crocodiles are one of the few animals that actively hunt humans and see them as a food source, and they are aggressive. The noises and splashing will just attract them more. Not to mention that there are stingrays, jellies and aggressive bull sharks most likely lurking in those waters, especially in the mangroves.
