Im really glad you have had that encouraging influence from your grandma. We all need a grandma like yours who encourages us to be emotionally and conversationally intelligent. I have to be honest that Im very poor at communicating likely due to all the isolation and abuse in my life. I learnt to associate connection as a bad thing so it can be exhausting working through my anxiety. I know I have a problem, and its because of my past though, so I am determined to never give up. And I also would never intentionally cut anyone off, unless its absolutely neccessary. Even if I need distance temporarily I always want to hold out hope that we can work out any difficulties through communication.
