Nice work and design. Curious, Did you already know how to weld? And own the tools? How much did the material cost? And how many hours of your labor, including demolition? Just curious how it compared to the $8000. Their quote likely includes things like their workshop, use of tools, hauling away materials, sourcing materials, maybe even a guarantee, and probably liability in case the railing fails. And then usually a certain percentage of profit after time and materials. $8000 seems steep, but I’ve noticed the cost of work has increased drastically over the past 5-6 years.
