What genuinely baffles me is the level of incompetence within UK policing. For months, even years, there have been viral videos clearly showing that they have no legal basis for these actions. This is public knowledge. Yet they keep repeating the same mistakes and humiliating themselves over and over again. The real question is: why do senior officers and leadership fail to step in and properly brief their officers? Every single time they carry out these interventions, they not only compromise themselves but also expose themselves to legal consequences and public ridicule. And then they wonder why the public no longer respects the police. Respect isn’t lost overnight — it’s lost through repeated, avoidable incompetence.
