@blueacregarden: Did you know poinsettias can be year-round houseplants with the right care? These beautiful plants, often enjoyed only during the holidays, are actually perennials that can live for years indoors. To keep your poinsettia healthy as a houseplant: - Place it in bright, indirect light near a south, east, or west-facing window for at least 6-8 hours daily. Avoid direct sunlight and keep away from cold drafts or heat vents. - Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Overwatering leads to root rot, so never let the plant sit in standing water. - Maintain room temperatures between 65-70°F during the day and no cooler than 55-60°F at night for optimal growth. - No fertilizer is needed while in bloom, but once flowers (technically bracts, or modified leaves) fade, feed monthly with a balanced houseplant fertilizer to encourage new growth. #PoinsettiaCare #HouseplantTips #IndoorPlants #PoinsettiaAsHouseplant #plantcareguide
