It’s all about the base y’all!!!! The ordinary exfoliating toner and a sticky serum under my foundation has changed everything for me. My makeup never separates anymore and my skin looks so airbrushed and dewy. Heavenly combo. Never going out of the house without my exfoliating toner ever again

Hey girl so I have super super dry skin (thank you psoriasis) and I struggle a lot with this. It doesn’t matter how creamy the foundation/concealer is and how much it claims to be hydrating, my face and especially in the nose area will dry up. I put on a lot hydrating serums and moisturizers (and a hydrating primer) before I even think about putting makeup on and it DOES help but sometimes my face still dries. The only time it 100% doesn’t is when I take a shower before I do my skin treatment.

it might not be a problem with ur foundation or skincare. I have had similar problems and it turned out that I just needed to switch my primer🙂

Sometimes it depends on your skin and the weather. Back when my skin was great and I lived in a more regular/dry climate I had a bunch of holy grail products that worked consistently. Now I’m going through an acne phase with tretinoin where every week my skin is different and suddenly my holy grails look like shit .. I wish it was as simple as slapping makeup on but skin behavior, skincare and external weather factors really affect foundation and how it sits.

Is this water based? If so I would switch to an oil based product you will see less dry patches! Just set with powder!

it also has a lot to do with chemistry. silicon and water mixing will always cause this kind of separation. make sure all things liquid have either the first or second ingredient as water. you don’t want stuff that ends in cone or silyl. usually it’s stick to one or the other but since you said your skin is oily stick w water based.
