Sometimes I want to tell my story but I’m scared because I know my father did some terrible things. I was always told that he’s in prison for something not nearly as bad as what he actually did do (he’s in prison for life). But I know that’ll put me and my son at risk and I know people hold vendettas. To this day people in his “organization” still watch me for “protection.” Because they promised him that they’d make sure nothing happens to me while he’s in there. I never shared this but I feel like this is a space space 😭😭

I’ve always thought of you as a real person… I almost put that in quotes, just for emphasis, but didn’t want to give the wrong impression… You ARE a real person. I find your story fascinating bc how a real person, a woman, can make it through all that & all the parts you haven’t shared yet (which you’re entitled to keep back, now one is owed an explanation as to why) but to make it through all of it & still be as articulate, smarter than most people I know & have interacted with, knowing your drive to get through it was the innate connection to your child (one that I also have) & that the need to fiercely protect him fueled your drive to endure! Your journey is inspiring for that! Is it different looking than mine? Yes, in some ways but similar too: in the drive to be a better mother who IS the safe space for their child, recovery & all that it entails, finding an intellectual outlet, being more self-aware & self-investigative…. You’re a beautiful soul, Ally! Yes, you have a past & you’re an imperfect human just like me. But your outside beauty pales in comparison to your inner beauty & strength. Don’t forget that. Love ya! ♥️
