I can see in her face that she’s afraid she can’t do what she just promised. I think she knows that she has a habit of jumping in and taking over the conversation, and it will be difficult to hold back because that move is actually a defense mechanism. If you control the conversation you can’t get hurt.

the "what did you hear him say?" is such a huge question. so many people assume we all hear the same thing...that's why the saying is "there's your version, their version and the true reality". our past dictates what we hear and focus on... i love how this therapist mediates

She’s so unhappy, but she can’t put her finger on why. So she’s constantly manufacturing reasons. He didn’t walk the dog, he doesn’t appreciate her sacrifice, he is too passive. I think she wants to be satisfied but it’s something that she has to find for herself. It’s really not about him.

i think Allison has an issue where her output doesn't match how she actually internally feels, aka she comes off more aggressive than what she means to. I relate bc I do the same thing, I sound snappy when I absolutely DO NOT mean to 🥲 it takes a lot of self awareness to recognize and adjust
