@worldofmysteries84: On August 24, 2019, 47-year-old Debra Stevens was delivering newspapers when her SUV was swept away by flash flood waters. Trapped in her vehicle as the water rose, she called emergency services in a panic, pleading for help. The audio recording of the 22-minute call, later released by police, gained national attention and caused public outrage. The dispatcher, Donna Reneau (last picture shown in the video), was heard scolding Stevens for driving into the water, telling her to "shut up" at one point, and saying "this will teach you, next time don't drive in the water". Stevens drowned before first responders could reach her vehicle, approximately 58 minutes after the initial call. Her death was ruled an accidental drowning. An internal police investigation found that while Reneau violated policy by being rude, she was not criminally negligent in her dispatching of first responders and would not have been fired for the rudeness alone.
