I am the only one baffled at the idea of a 300k loan being approved with income coming in at 10$ an hour?? Giving it up was a blessing. Theres no way you would’ve been able to keep up with the payments even if only for a couple of years

I bought my first house (a semi in Mississauga) in 2010 for $338K. I intentionally did not tell ANYONE until closing because I just knew they would try to talk me out of it. It’s worth almost $1M now

Girl I’m a real estate broker with more than a dozen condos languishing on the market. Prices have and are going to continue to drop. You will def have a similar opportunity again in the next couple years. I’m not even sure if what you paid in 2015 could necessarily be recouped now. That’s how bad it is.

Don’t feel too bad, the condo is honestly not worth much more now in 2025. There’s been a market crash with condos. You can definitely get a 1+den in the 300s right now.

As a young impressionable woman ur gonna find people 10years plus ur senior or even ur own age that have not achieved the level of success at ur age that you have… and will bad mouth in disguise as advice, be very careful with whom u take financial advice from, especially if they haven’t been able to achieve what u have at ur present stage in life!

They can’t run off with your money though .. there are safeguards in place. Almost every major builder is reputable in Toronto. If they “run off with your money” it’s stealing….

Omg I feel you Covid messed up my first investment too😩 Now is still a good time to invest! There’s another project that is offering a monthly deposit of $1600/month until closing which will be in 2028 and the building is already under construction! Let me know if you want more details

when I bought my condo in 2016 it got delayed multiple times but I got money back from the builder for delay. over 10k
