@mariahidrissi: A few tips if you’re planning your umrah: 1. Switch off from social media. If I get content, it’s NOT during my umrah and I share after my trip. 2. Create a dua list. This is the perfect time and space to take the time you need in making dua. 3. See the beauty in the crowds. It can be frustrating being pushed and shoved but remind yourself to be patient. How beautiful is it that our ummah is so large in numbers and connected through La Illaha IllAllah. 4. Do your own thing (if you can). Often people go in large groups and personally, I find a lot of time can be wasted in debating where to have dinner, waiting on someone getting ready etc. Family time is important but umrah is a detachment from ALL worldly things. If you can, have some quiet moments alone with your Lord. 5. Make intention for post umrah. It’s one thing to complete umrah and another to maintain that high frequency when you return back home. 6. Less shopping, more worship. There’s a lot going on in both Mecca and Medina, remind yourself why you’re there. 7. Pack lightly. Especially if you’re visiting both Mecca and Medina, it’s a lot easier to travel around if you’re not lugging a bunch of stuff. 8. Go to the Haram early for prayers. Roads get blocked ahead of prayer time. 9. Do loads of dhikr and keep on top of morning and evening adkhars. 10. Drop your own tip in the comments! #umrah #mecca #medina #fyp
