I love how parental "responsibility" is enough to stop you deciding which schools they can attend, changing their name, taking them on holidays and all that kind of stuff but the actual responsibility of being a parent isnt enforced 🙈

You can change name by deed poll via an online company, the father can apply to court to make you change it back but in most cases the dads in question won't bother! I done my children 15yrs ago and never had a problem 👍

Like myself I gave my daughter her father’s last name.. we wasn’t married and I really wish now I didn’t. I think that unless you are married you shouldn’t be able to give the child the father’s surname!

I changed my kids name and forged his signature and judge said I didn’t break the law I broke the rules and if he wanted it back then dad had to take me to court himself to change back :) which never happened now he’s serving a long time in jail so was a good decision I made in bh!

what about if you ex partner has changed your child name without your concent. lied to the courts to get it changed and stopped you from having any contact with there child. as this happens to me. where do I stand. I never knew any of this was happening or happened till I found out.

my daughter is 8years old, her biological Farther walked away when I was 6 weeks pregnant and has never had contact, he isnt on her birth certificate. I gave her a double barrel sername however can I change her name without his consent, I dont want to do it by deed poll I want it permanently changed how would I do that ?
