This is so true. Im typically not good with small talk. But in an interview today, I was asked “How was the drive here?”. I responded that it was an easy drive. We laughed and chatted about how the traffic looks so different during morning rush hour. It definitely settled the nerves for both of us.

I believe this on a high level. But just had an interviewer yesterday (with a PHD in the field), who asked me “how are you”, and before I could finish my statement, went “so why did you apply?”… then other questions.

i’ve been offered four Supervisor positions and I’ve declined all of them because I was not ready to be in a Supervisor roll. One is coming up in the next week or so and I am finally ready to be a supervisor and I’m wondering how this one’s gonna go. I’ve been asked if I wanted it but I told them that I want to be interviewed for it. I don’t want to just be given it.
