COOK THEM RIGHT AWAY! I let them sit in a yogurt container until it was full, then cooked them. My whole house stunk of rotten eggs.

Adding an acid (like lemon juice or vinegar) makes the calcium so much more effective. It causes it to become water soluble so that it is easily absorbed.

I do the same but I grind them down into a powder.

Add them to the garden as well. But you need to grind them into a finer powder

As I'm cracking eggs, the shellls go directly into the oven. The next time the oven is turned on they get dried out then I put the shells in a honey pail and crush them. I bake them because I don't like finding whole eggshells in my garden. The membrane helps hold the shell together, but if it's dried out, they break down faster
