I do this! It makes a huge difference. One doctor refuses to read anything and then complains when I talk. Today I finally requested a transfer of care away from him 💪

doctors actually read the info you send. can't even get them to review their own charts.

I see it like this. when shopping for a new car I just don't go with the first one I find I shop around to to find the best one. I've told them that before when they accused me of Dr shopping. I said of course I'm shopping you don't just buy the first car you find at a dealer. it shuts them right up and usually works out well.

This is what I normally recommend however, the last time I went to see my PCP, she only took the time to answer two out of four or five questions I had wrote down. I was shocked! As an advocate, I tell all patients to make sure they have their questions ready

My doctor would tell me to find another Dr if I did that.

Functional loss is so much more important than a pain number.

I do this for every medical appointment now, it has made a huge difference! Late diagnosed AuDHD, I've struggled to effectively communicate & self advocate my entire life, while juggling chronic pain & undiagnosed comorbid conditions, dismissed time and time again. Now communication is clear, I have less anxiety over appointments and am starting to get appropriate outcomes.

I’ve tried this before and all they suggest is a spinal cord stimulation trial. This after they have done multiple epidural injections, RF ablation and fusions in my neck. Just to be told the stimulator may not even work. Yaaay

it does work I did it today for the first time and it is so efficient I think it is because these doctors are clinical people who learn from school books and write on paper so for them to see it in their face as you're telling them they have no choice but to accept it their brains are going to go straight to the words on the paper so every time I go to the doctor from now on I will be prepared because I truly believe that doctors don't like a bunch of rambling on for a hundred different issues they get confused write them out be detailed I am certain that this has an impact💯

Supposed to do trial stimulator in the next month or so just had my knee replaced last September so we are giving it a bit more healing time haven't finished physical therapy yet. I'm so scared to do the stimulator for many reasons. However pain management told me in order to keep any kind of medication I have to get this done because nothing else is working ! Or a huge surgery I feel so defeated and full of anxiety 💔

According to my doctor and his nurses, they are not allowed to take papers from me during the appointment. And when I email him, I get a stock answer from one of the nurses, stating that he will review the email. And talk about it at the next appointment. But he never does
