I would consider putting a bracket at the end of the counter for the baskets. Like stores have. People may not want to pull the one basket out to stack another in it.

Test your process out. Get your employees act as customers. Give them buggy’s and baskets and see how the process works. You may find roadblocks that you need to fix before you go live.

I'd use something other than chip strand board. use a cabinet grade plywood or marin plywood. it's more expensive but will hold up many many years

I love that y'all share this stuff! I find it fascinating. I first thought of how Costco used to have an extra buggy so the cashier would pull the items out of one buggy and the bagger would be loading the new one for carryout.

I like the basket area , however when your husband put the basket down below it didn’t leave enough room for more than one stacked basket . The floating shelf needs to be a little bit taller .
