Most people send thousands on premiums and barely go to the doctor. The system is broken. Insurance is the problem, not the solution.

Try to find a new job. An employer who knowingly charges as much as you make for insurance is exploiting you.

the worst past is still owe thousands in medical bills on top of how much we pay for insurance!

This is why a lot of people don’t have insurance. It’s crazy how expensive it is. I hope you find some way out of this! Sending good vibes your way. 😊

I live in MA I pay $2000 a month for insurance with a $10,000 deductible. If you do not have insurance here you get fined. I have no money left after insurance is paid. I understand how you feel. It shouldn't be this hard.

If you and your family are relatively healthy, only go to the drs for the occasional sickness// infection etc. it might be cheaper to just find a practice near you that has direct care/ cash pay options. Where I’m at, i pay $100 for maternity care, and for my sons drs appointments the come out to like $30-40 a visit. Prescriptions haven’t been more than $15 either. You could put what you would normally pay to health insurance into a savings account for emergency events, that cost less for cash pay customers also

That’s on your employer for not covering more of it.

I took the plunge and ditched health insurance last year. It’s cheaper being selfpay, considering you don’t really need a doctor other than sick care/urgent care when needed.

I pay $72 for health, vision, and dental. It covers my wife and I. My employer has decent insurance.

If you’re young and healthy, you can probably get away with self pay. I rarely went to a doctor until I got old and retired.

Urgent care and minute clinic are helpful. Try Thriveworks and grow therapy online for meds and therapy they offer sliding scales too. Goodrx for scripts. There will be out of pocket but it tends to be less than insurance plus copays
