My friend is a health inspector and the ice machine almost always gets dinged for mold and bacteria. Do not use hotel ice machines either.

Yes ice machines should be cleaned once a week and never does..if you see less than 100 rating at a restaurant..99% Of the time its dirty ice machine and its black mold..also soda guns are even worse the hoses rarely get cleaned as well..people think restaurants are clean🤣🤣

I once (by my own volition) took a few HOURS to clean the mold out from the ice unit. You know who could care less that I cleaned it or even the fact that it was moldy.....management.
